Auto Retro 2009, the big event of the classics
Coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the popular Mini
Lovers of collectors' cars and motorcycles cannot miss the 26th Auto Retro which will be taking place up to the 8th of December in hall 2 and Plaza de l'Univers at the Montjuïc exhibition centre. Organised by Promobil Group, this year's show is presenting unique vehicles of great historical value.
Coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the Mini, Auto Retro will showcase two of the most emblematic models of this popular car, currently exhibited in England: the first ever Mini manufactured in the world and the Mini Cooper S which won the 1964 Monte Carlo Rally driven by the Irish driver Paddy Hopkirk, who will also visit the show.
Auto Retro will also be showing a world premiere: a replica of a 6-metre long Pegaso, designed in 1951 to break world records; the 1922 Patria motorcycle, manufactured in Badalona; and the Nacional Pescara car which competed in Montjuïc in the International Grand Prix, organised by Peña Rhin in 1933 and 1934.
Visitors to Auto Retro will have free entry to Fira de Barcelona's Second Hand Show, which will be held in hall 8 until the 8th of December with 1,000 semi-new, guaranteed cars on sale.
